Watamu is a small fishing town on Kenya’s north coast.

Fly Nairobi - Malindi
The easiest way to get to Watamu for most visitors is to take a 1 hour flight from Nairobi to Malindi Airport, and then a 30 minutes drive to Watamu. A taxi fare from Malindi to Watamu will cost around 2,000 kshs (around $20). Taxis are available at the airport. As yet, taxi app services such as Uber are not an option in Malindi or Watamu.

Fly Nairobi - Mombasa
Alternatively, for those who may be coming from Mombasa, it takes about 2 and a half hours by road to cover the 100 kilometres distance. A taxi fare from Mombasa to Watamu should not cost more than 5,000/- ($50).

Fly Nairobi - Vipingo
Vipingo has a small airport that is about 2 hours drive south of Watamu

Fly Lamu - Malindi
Flights from Lamu to Malindi take about 20 minutes

A selection of hotels and holiday villas will arrange airport transfers to and from Malindi or Mombasa.
